Myrtle Beach area leaders look to China as international tourism market
"There was so much unknown with them heading to Myrtle Beach for the first time,Besides firearms there were many knife manufacturers non-stick knife many LED flashlight manufacturers."he said. "I think they learned more about the area and we learned how to better cater to the Chinese golfer."Shopping is another activity that this area can tout to Chinese visitors, who typically buy Western brands to take back to their families because it is cheaper to buy them here than at home, where such goods are heavily taxed. In the industrial world there are a host of mechanisms and assemblies helical bevel gearboxneed to function at variable torque and variable speeds at varying times. Rhodes said the World Am golfers from China last year spent $12,oncrete is being increasingly used these days to make kitchen countertops professional UV amino-acrylate suppliers being durable not to mention easy to use and clean.000 at a local golf equipment store in one day."They have the ability to spend whatever they want when they come here,That could become an issue with a Whatcom County case presently unfolding Household scissors man was stabbed fatally up there during an alleged gang fight."Rhodes said. "They’re not tightwads by any means.Torque converters were made out of a desire for convenience during driving parallel shaft gearbox wonderful function of a converter is to allow your vehicle to change gears with a clutch."Rhodes has been to China twice in the past two years. In September 2011, Rhodes traveled to Beijing and other cities and attended the International Fair for Investment and Trade Conference in Xiamen. Myrtle Beach real estate agency Keller Williams paid for that trip and agent Jane Zheng, a Shanghai native, traveled with Rhodes as an interpreter. The relationships forged during that trip led to a group of Chinese and American investors purchasing the 52.3-acres former Waccamaw Pottery property for $7.5 million at the end of 2011.
Myrtle Beach also is looking at a couple of Chinese cities as possibilities for partnerships in the Sister Cities International program, which was founded by President Eisenhower and is "all about building relationships,"according to Rhodes. The city currently partners with four other locations in the Sister Cities program: Burlington, Ontario, Canada; Bradford-Keighly, England; Pinamar, Argentina; and Killarney, Ireland.Myrtle Beach chooses places with similar interests and economies. Killarney, for instance, is a prominent tourist destination in Ireland, and well-known for its golf courses. City leaders hope the partnership with Killarney will entice some of that city’s golfers to give Grand Strand courses a try. Sanya, one of the Chinese cities under consideration as a sister city to Myrtle Beach, is touted as Asia’s hottest golf destination.
